Topic: Blessed Beyond Every Curse(Part 1)
Text: Numbers 22: 12
But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.” Amen
To bless is to pronounce words in a religious rite in order to confer or invoke divine favour upon something or someone. However to be blessed by God is to have the mighty arm of Elohim resting upon a person and anything else belonging to him/her for the supernatural manifestation of God’s love. The power in the word, love and grace of God invoked, nullifies all contrary powers to give way to the perfect will of God in the life of that individual. Halleluyah!
Now Balak has sent messengers to Balaam with a divination fee in hand. They seek to convince him to come and curse Israel and render them useless. “Spend the night here,” Balaam said to them, “and I will report back to you with the answer the Lord gives me.” So the Moabite officials stayed with him.
God came to Balaam and asked, “Who are these men with you?” (Numbers 22: 8-9) Balaam told the Lord who they were and why they had come. God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, BECAUSE THEY ARE BLESSED!
Beloved, Balaam knew very well that a curse will not work where God has blessed. THE POWER OF GOD SURPASSES ALL OTHERS THAT COULD BE INVOKED. Balaam decided therefore to seek God’s approval before taking that step against Israel. When He did, God cautioned him not to waste his efforts and time to curse Israel, because they are Blessed – PERIOD!
You see in Genesis 35: 9, After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him. Jacob (Israel) was already blessed and no other curse could revert that.
Meditate on this and begin to pray fervently. We are spiritual sons and daughters of the Abrahamic covenant of blessing. Take authority in Christ and refuse the lie of the devil that your life is cursed and shall never receive anything good.
Reject that voice! Tell the enemy just as Jacob returned from Paddan Aram and was blessed by God, so you became blessed the day you turned from sin to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour! He (Christ), became cursed on the “tree” so that we will be the blessing of God. You are blessed beyond a curse!
