The Time Is Now!

Topic: The Time Is Now!
Text: 2 Corinthians 6: 1-2

As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For He says, “In the time of my favour I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, and now is the day of salvation. Amen

Grace is the unmerited favour in the life of believers bestowed on us by the sacrifice of Christ on the cross of Calvary. It is limitless, boundless, available and sufficient for all mankind; especially those of us born into the marvellous light of Christ.

Grace makes it possible for God to assist us through the sacrifice of His son without being hindered by our unbelief, sins and guilt. It allows God to bless us without measure even when we don’t deserve to be pardoned for all our atrocities against Him.

Apostle Paul knows very well about grace. It is he who reminded the church of Ephesus that, it is by grace we have been saved through faith- not by works lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2: 8- 9). Today he urges us not to receive the grace of God in vain. It must practically translate into our very lives and aspirations.

If God said in Isaiah 49: 8 that “in the time of His favour He heard His children, and in the day of salvation He helped them”, then to us who are under the dispensation of grace, this period is even more the “time of God’s favour” and the “day of His salvation” than then. Get ready to be favoured, get ready to he helped.

Rise up Child of God therefore and get ready for prayer. If you truly believe that this is the time of God’s favour and that now is the day of salvation, then don’t let this moment slip you by. Begin to pray your entire life to Jesus. Plead salvation for the lost and weary, healing for your sick relative, deliverance for all who are oppressed by the devil, breakthrough for all whose success seems blocked and peace of mind for the troubled.

Pray for marital favour for all bachelors and spinsters. Pray also for employment favour for both the employed and unemployed. Pray for the single parent, childless, fatherless and homeless. Ask that divine favour brings them help.
Grace is overflowing in our day and we must not let its blessings slip us by; neither should we receive it in vain until it has practically translated into supernatural blessings in our lives.

And now, “may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all” (2 Corin 13: 14). And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil 4: 7), now and forever. Amen.
