Text: Exodus 14: 15- 17a

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. 17 I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army. Amen

Moses is frustrated at the grumbling of the Israelites and begins to cry out to God. Surprisingly God asked him, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Wow!

“God please where do we move to?” Moses must have thought. “Before us is the Red Sea and behind us is the strongest army in the world at that time, where exactly do we turn to?”
Well Moses and all Israel with him probably did not consider the following things about our God:

i. He never starts what He cannot finish. He is Himself the ALPHA & OMEGA. When He told Pharaoh through Moses to let His people go so they may serve Him, He knew Pharaoh could in no way withstand His ability to achieve that.
He even explained to Moses countless times while in Egypt that it was He who permitted Pharaoh’s heart to be hardened so that He could prove to both Israel & Egypt that He’s God. Pharaoh and His army were not a threat to our God.

ii. When He commands you to GO, that WORD contains the Power to cause the impossible to be possible. At creation, He commanded light in the mist of darkness and there was light. When He commands you to Go, yours is just to obey even if the odds remain against you. This is because that command contains within it the POWER to make a doorway through every blockade and to build a bridge over the waters. It will even quench every fiery flame till you reach your destination.

When we meet an obstacle on the journey that God commands us to take, we don’t stop, pray, pray, pray and do nothing. No! WE PRAY WITHOUT CEASING AND WE PRESS ON TOWARDS THE GOAL. Begin to pray now and commit this new week into the hands of God. Regardless the challenges that may arise, be reminded that our God is greater than all. Keep pressing on!
