Topic: It’s A Matter Of Belief
Text: John 9: 38

38 Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped Him. Amen

As He went on His way one day, Jesus came across a blind man whose condition was from birth. “He spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” He told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing” (John 9: 6-7).

News begun to spread that he who was born blind can now see. The Pharisees therefore decided to interrogate the man. “How were your eyes opened?” they asked. He replied, “The MAN they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.” “Where is this man?” they asked him. “I don’t know,” he said. (John 9: 10- 12).

The Pharisees then tried to discredit Jesus to the man, calling Him a sinner but the man insisted only a righteous man from God could do a thing as heal his sight. “To this they replied, “You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!” And they threw him out” (John 9: 34).

Beloved, it is impossible to encounter Jesus and not know you have encountered destiny. This blind man knew nothing of the Lord before, but after his encounter, he became persuaded that Jesus was heaven’s answer to his prayers. All the negativity wouldn’t change his mind about that MAN they call Jesus.

Now, Jesus decided to fully introduce Himself to this hitherto blind man and give him a chance to salvation. He found him later and asked “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” “Who is He, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in Him.” Jesus said, “You have now seen Him; in fact, He is the one speaking with you.” Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped Him”. (John 9: 35b- 38)

Precious One, how many times have you not encountered the healing grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, His love, provision, direction and protection? Today He gives you a chance to know Him fully: not as “the one the people call Jesus”, but as your Lord! After all His goodness in your life, He asks you this morning, “do you believe in the Son of Man? For you have now seen Him, in fact, He is the one speaking with you through this devotion.

Begin to pray right now. Accept Jesus into your heart. Like the blind man, tell Him “Lord I believe”, “I believe you are the Son of God”, “I believe you died and rose again that I may live”. “I accept you into my heart as my Lord and personal Saviour”. Now begin to worship. He is bigger than what the people say when you encounter Him personally. Give Him all the glory, great things He has done.
