Text: Colossians 3: 1- 4
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Amen
Questions
1. What does it mean to say we “have been raised with Christ”?
2. What does it mean to set one’s heart on things above where Christ is, and how do we practically do that?
3. Now verse 1 says we should SET OUR HEARTS ON THINGS ABOVE WHERE CHRIST IS. Verse 2 also admonishes that WE SET OUR MINDS ON THINGS ABOVE NOT EARTHLY THINGS.
a) Are both verses talking about the same thing?
b) If not, what can we say is the difference between the two verses and also, how can we set our MINDS TOO ON THINGS ABOVE?
c) What is the blessing you believe we will derive if we set both heart and mind on things above?
4. Kindly explain: “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory”.
