Be Wise!

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Be Wise!
Text: Galatians 3: 3

“Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?” Amen!

The text above defines foolishness as beginning a thing with God and seeking to perfect it by human efforts.

Many times you find a believer wrestling in prayer for a particular thing, only for his relationship with God to change after having received the request of his heart.

A young lady may spend sleepless nights beseeching God for a husband, only for her to begin to treasure the man more than her God. She does everything in her power to satisfy the man and keep her marriage rather than developing her relationship with God as well.

A young unemployed man may battle in prayer until He gets his dream job, but then He gets so busy with his job that he forgets his God.

What more can we say about the believer who is seeking admission into school, the one believing God for financial breakthrough, the one trusting God for travelling mercies, promotion, or even some property of a sought?

All these believers may seek God diligently, until they receive their hearts’ desires.

The very alarming one is those who start the Christian journey with a clear understanding that they can’t do without the guidance of the Holy Ghost.

No sooner have they began to show signs of growth in the things of God than they begin to become perfect by their own human efforts. That is very dangerous and maybe a not so wise thing to do.

Beloved, please choose to be wise by allowing the Holy Spirit who has begun great things with you, be the same Who walks you through its different stages to the end.

He never fails so don’t be wise in your own eyes. Trust and rely on Him in all that you do, both now and forevermore.
