Topic: Paying Full Attention To What We Have Heard!
Text: Heb 2: 1- 4

1 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,

3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will. Amen

Many dangerous atheists out there trying to defame the name of Jesus. They, together with practitioners of false religions, seem to be on a crusade to deny the diety of Christ. So that many will drift away from the salvation that comes through Him and head straight for eternal condemnation.

Surprisingly, their campaign seems to be gaining grounds and catching the attention of shallow youths who have also seen their commitment to Jesus as a restriction from the world they want to model after.

It is expedient however, that we pay the most careful attention, to the truth we have heard from the Holy Scriptures and the salvation it brings, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?

This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, has been confirmed to us by those who heard Him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

We do not need to prove Jesus to you. He has always revealed more of Himself to you since you first believed, hasn’t He? Has it not been His love engulfing you when all others were gone? What about the many wonderful things happening to you that confirms His word for you is true?

Meditate on this and begin to pray. Do not come this far in your walk with the true living God and begin to doubt Him because false religions try to discredit Him. Repent from all the doubt in your mind that makes you lukewarm and ask the Lord to help you go back to your first love; where it was all about Him.

Deep down in your heart you know that your knowledge of Jesus and the salvation He gives freely by faith, is not only from the confirmation of those who witnessed it, but also from our Father in Heaven, who through the Holy Spirit testifies to this word with signs, wonders and various miracles in your life.

How do we hope to escape if we ignore so great a salvation? Especially when we are fully aware that every violation and disobedience will receive its just punishment. Let us pay most careful attention to what we have heard therefore, so that we do not drift away.
