Today’s Devotion
Topic: Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So!
Text: Psalm 107: 1- 2.
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story-those He redeemed from the hand of the foe. Amen.
Where are all who have been redeemed from darkness into light? Asking about those whose chains are now broken and destinies restored to God’s original plan; they must be getting ready to testify of the goodness of the Lord.
For, “if the LORD had not been on our side when our enemies attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us.The flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away. But blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth. We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped” (Ps124:2-7).
We therefore have so much to be grateful for. Make it a matter of necessity to praise God for all His goodness in your life. He is such a great and compassionate God, who is all so worthy to be praised. Also don’t restrain from testifying to the saints of God how Jehovah picked you up and turned your life around. Tell your story to encourage someone who may be at the verge of giving up. Let them know how the foe tried to steal, kill and destroy you till Jesus broke you free from his schemes; leaving you with this testimony and a song of praise to our God.
Actually, this is not how the enemy wanted your story to go. He wanted worse for you but God wouldn’t let it happen. Jehovah was not going to watch your life waste away in sickness and pain. His mighty right hand brought you out so you can stand free from the desires of your oppressors and testify.
Begin to pray now; worship Him who watches over us daily, without fail. Tell Him how grateful you are for all His mercies. Ask for the boldness to testify of this love and mercy He’s shown you; not just in the assembly of His people but also with your life. Especially to those who encounter you everyday.
Remember, the fathers of our faith overcame the enemy by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony” (Rev 12:11a). Why don’t you join the overcomers today by testifying to the work of the blood in the lives of all who will believe? The enemy is defeated; WE ARE REDEEMED!
