Watch your Tongue (Job 19: 1-2)

Then Job replied: How long will you torment me and crush me with words. Amen

Words heal and they kill, they can start wars/conflict and promote peace as well. One pleasant word spoken in time could be all it takes to transform a life.

Job was in anguish and pain yet his friends kept at negative words until he cried out “why are you tormenting me with your words?”

Only God knows what could have happened to Job had he not spoken out against those negative words.

These negative words inflict emotional and psychological wounds. Often times we do not pay much attention to the emotional tremor our words cause because the wounds are all internal not external.

However this is not to say, we should always say nice things even when the situation requires we be firm and address some “wrongs”. The only problem is how we address them and our choice of words. Meditate on this word, begin to pray!
