“When Pilate heard this, he tried to find a way to set Jesus free. But the crowd shouted back, “If you set him free, that means that you are not the Emperor’s friend! Anyone who claims to be a king is a rebel to the Emperor!” Amen
Jesus stands accused by His own people. Pilate, after so many interrogations, found nothing wrong with Him. However the desire to secure his political position by pleasing both his subjects and the Emperor was high; he had to give in to the pressure by having Jesus crucified.
What are the “realities” in your life preventing you from living for the Lord. Why do you hide your identity as a christian before certain people and at certain gatherings? Why do you do contrary to the bible just to please friends and colleagues?
You see, we may steal, lie, compromise and cheat to maintain public approval yet away from the crowd we are depressed, sad and confused. This is because man was fundamentally created for the pleasure of His Maker. Nothing else satisfies the soul.
We are made to live for God. Living for friends, power, fame, position and any other thing for that matter only moves us further away from the God we love. Meditate on this; make a firm decision today to stop compromising on godliness.
