Topic: The Crusade
Text: John 4:28-30
Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I
ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” They came out of the town and made their way toward him. Amen
This text tells the story of Jesus having a conversation with a woman about herself to the point that His followers were amazed He was even talking to that kind of woman in the first place.
From chapter 4:18, Jesus told her point blank. ” The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband”. This is an obvious indication that the woman was not living right.
But after she had recieved the truth about herself and probably had a change of heart, she instantly organised a crusade for Jesus. She went out into the town to call the people to meet the Man who could give her eternal life.
As a woman with four past husbands and living with a man who was not even her husband, one would have thought she would be shy to even announce her presence, but she organised a crusade for Jesus.
Sadly however, in today’s world, we have hidden and kept Christ to ourselves after knowing Him. We have had so many second thoughts about sharing His invite with others simply because we think we have horrible past lives and we are not sure how people will recieve a Christ invite from us.
Pray for the strength to overcome all fears of a past life and invite someone to Christ.
