Lead Thou Me On!

Topic: Lead Thou Me On!

Text: Matthew 2: 19- 23
19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt 20 and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”
21 So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee, 23 and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene. Amen
Joseph was no teacher of the law or high priest. He was a regular Jew who was very devoted to God, and that made all the difference. Being aware of how limited we are as mortals, he relied completely on God’s guidance and directions on all the major decisions that concerned his life. God never disappointed too, as He spoke to Joseph through dreams and gave specific directives as to what he should do next and why.
Joseph’s intimacy with God was so deep that when evil men plotted to kill his “CHILD” (JESUS), the Lord prompted him to move the family to Egypt. There in the foreign land, he maintained his relationship with God as well as his sensitivity to our Lord’s leadings, so much so that he was prompted again by God to take his family back to the land of Isreal when those who plotted to kill his “CHILD” died. He was even specifically instructed as to where to stay for the safety of the child and to fulfill prophecy.
Beloved, Joseph’s reliance on God’s directives was necessitated by the fact that he had a responsibility to take good care of heaven’s special gift to mankind (Jesus Christ), and he knew he couldn’t do it on his own. You too have a lot of responsibilities from God to take care of, don’t you? Especially as you look at the wonderful family God gave you, your God centered children too, this miracle job you got by grace, and all the heavenly endowed gifts and talents that you see on display within you.
Learning from Joseph, why don’t you trust in the leadings of God to help you be the best you can be to all the blessings that He (God) has made you steward of? He is able to guide you know how best to take care of these. It may not only be in dreams as it was for many in the bible. He speaks audibly too and then through His word. He speaks through His servants and speak through nature. He speaks through visions and prophecy too. He also speaks directly into the spirits of his children, especially those who know His voice from His word.
Meditate on this word and begin to pray. Commit this new working week into the Lord’s hands and ask Him to lead you on. Through the nights and the days. Ask Him to guide you from those who want to kill His gifted blessings upon your life. Soak your family, aspirations, studies, career, ministry and business into the blood of Jesus.
The many ‘Herods’ who want to see these blessings dead, can take the lead to “deathland”. As for you, you will remain preserved and protected by God; even if an “Archelaus” rises after Herod’s death, YOU AND HEAVEN’S BLESSINGS TO YOU, CAN NEVER FAIL.
