Topic: He Will Come Back The Same Way You Have Seen Him Go !
Text: Acts 1:11
11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Amen
On the day of ascention, Jesus told His disciples that they will receive power to witness when the Holy Spirit has come upon them. “After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight” (Acts 1: 9).
“They were looking intently up into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven” (Acts 1: 10- 11).
Previous One, it is obvious that most of us have no doubts regarding the birth, life, work, death, resurrection or even ascension of our Lord Jesus, just as the scriptures say. We perfectly agree to His divine nature and person in the trinity.
The only question that sometimes baffle our minds is whether it’s true that Jesus will come again to take us with Him where He is. Especially, since it’s been so many decades and that prophecy is still yet to be fulfilled.
Well tell the “men of Galilee” looking into the sky and wondering if Jesus will really come again that they should not stop believing. Jesus surely comes soon, the same way He returned to the Father.
Actually, “With a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, the Lord will return from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise again. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thess 4: 16- 17). He says “”Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done” (Rev 22: 12).
Therefore, the question is not whether the Lord is coming back and how soon? He has already told us He is coming and it is soon. The question actually should be whether we are ready to meet Him anytime He appears.
Meditate on this word and begin to pray now. Ask the Lord to make you ready for His coming. You don’t want to miss that moment for anything. For it will catch up with many unawares and the consequences are eternal. Jesus says “See , I have told you ahead of time” (Mat 24: 25).
From the same bible you have believed His birth, life, work, death, ressurection and ascension comes the assurance of His return to take His own. Why should you doubt that? Let us redeem the times for the days are evil. Choose righteousness while grace abounds and it shall be thy joy and crown when the Lord appears.
