Not Forgotten But Engraved In His Palm!

Today’s Devotion
Topic : Not Forgotten But Engraved In His Palm!
Text : Isaiah 49: 14- 16

14 But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.” 15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! 16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Amen

To engrave is to cut or carve (a text or design) on the surface of a hard object.
And if that hard object upon which you are engraved happens to be the palm of the Lord, then you are ever secured, never to be forgotten.

You see, most often we are very okay until we compare ourselves with others. There and then we become discontent with a thing or two about ourselves. We see others getting jobs, married, promoted, visas, contracts, fat incomes, relationships and breakthroughs and we feel very dejected and forgotten by God.

The situation appears worse when we have to wait on Him “forever” for that single prayer to be answered. A request we know He can easily grant, goes on into years without the hope of it ever manifesting. It feels justifiable to accuse God of forgetting all about us and the sacrifices made for His sake.

But imagine the chaos there would be if God could forget. Even the simple idea that one day He can forget Himself and lose His grip on the universe is unimaginable. What a disaster that will be! The sea and land battling for boundary; the sun and moon disagreeing on who has the right to shine as day and the other as night etc. In fact carbondioxide and oxygen may have mixed up in unacceptable proportions to choke man.

Honestly, the chaos and recklessness would have been unbearable. But  because He holds all things together and remembers the place for each element or creation, there is perfect order, coherence and consistency of all things in the universe.

So now the question really is, if He is the God who can not forget, why should anyone assume He has forgotten them? Especially the children of Zion whom He has redeemed to Himself. What is His interest blessing some and forgetting others?

To clarify this for us, the  Lord inquired from all His doubters in Zion a simple  question. He asked,  “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you” (Is 49: 15).

Therefore arise and take your position in Christ. Continue to do all things both big or small that please the Lord even as you wait for your miracle to manifest. For it will definitely happen. If not, then it only means God has a blessing far bigger than what you praying for.

Be patient with the Lord. Don’t get deceived to try other gods- they have no solution to offer. “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Heb 13: 5); see, I have  engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls ever before me.

Begin to pray all your worries to Jesus. He knows your name, He knows your every thought, He sees each tear that falls and hears you whenever you will call. YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!
