Blessed Beyond A Curse (Fasting Day 5)

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Blessed Beyond A Curse (Fasting Day 5)
Text: Numb 22: 24- 29

24 Then the angel of the LORD stood in a narrow path between two vineyards, with walls on both sides. 25 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she pressed close to the wall, crushing Balaam’s foot against it. So he beat her again.

26 Then the angel of the LORD moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left. 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat her with his staff.

28 Then the LORD opened the donkey’s mouth, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?” 29 Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.” Amen

Today is the fifth day of our 14 days fasting and prayers, and testimonies have started coming in from across the world. Believers are recovering whatever blessings they let loose either by ignorance or negligence. Don’t be left out.

Balaam is in trouble. Balak’s request that he curses Israel is turning out to be his own curse and nightmare. An angel of the Lord stands his way with a drawn sword. Even the donkey sees him yet, the “seer” doesn’t see.

He keeps striking the donkey till God opens its mouth to draw Balaam’s attention to the angel. Yet he’s not alarmed to hear the animal speak, he replies his donkey. Israel is blessed and God was not going to “take it easy” with anyone who sought to curse them.

The question however is, was Israel aware of these things going on against them and how God was fighting for them the whole time?

Beloved, we sleep each day and wake up to see the hand of God keeping us alive. We however have no idea the battles the Lord fights on our behalf such that, we wake up feeling blessed and peaceful.

You see, whenever the enemy would strike, God raises a standard against him and keeps us safe on every side. The Lord then keeps a hedge around us, blesses the work of our hands and increases our possessions… (Job 1:10).

We need to be very grateful to God for the daily victory He gives us over our enemies, both the seen and the unseen blessings. Begin to pray now. Thank Him that angels are opposing those who are on their way to curse you. God will turn their intended curses to your blessings because you are blessed beyond every curse.
