Topic: The Lord Has Sworn This!
Text: Isaiah 14: 24- 27

24 The Lord Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen. 25 I will crush the Assyrian in my land; on my mountains I will trample him down. His yoke will be taken from my people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.” 26 This is the plan determined for the whole world; this is the hand stretched out over all nations.27 For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? Amen

Sometimes the enemy rises like a flood against the people of God. He attacks from different angles to see how much he can destroy within the shortest possible time.

As we go through these trying moments, we begin to wonder if what the Lord promised about us still has any chance at all to come to pass. We wonder if our broken and dry bones can ever live again.

Be encouraged, beloved; be confident. Not in your own abilities, anyway. But in the Word of the Lord God Almighty. For He has sworn that everything He has planned for your life is exactly what will come to pass; everything He has purposed is what will happen.

He decrees that Assyria (representing the enemy of God), will be crushed in the Land. And on the mountains our Lord will trample him down. His yoke will be taken from the people of God and his burden removed from our shoulders. This is the plan determined for the whole world. Wherever ‘Assyria’ shows his face to enslave the people of God, the Lord will crush him.

After all, Jehovah is the Lord, the greatest and most powerful God of all. Who can thwart what He has purposed? Who is it that can turn back His outstretched hand? Rise up from the ashes and begin to pray now.

Remind the Lord of this Word. Tell Him how much you long for His deliverance and how determined you are to hold on to His Word until ‘Assyria’ is crushed and his burden lifted off you.

God will not bring you this far, just to let you down. He is father to the fatherless and the defender of the defenceless. He knows His own and will not leave them to the desires of the enemy; no He will not!
