“Your wickedness has deprived you of these wonderful blessings. Your sin has robbed you of all these good things.” Amen.
Often you hear people make statements like, “Oh let me do this ‘thing’ for the last time. After all God always forgives”
Indeed He does.
A renowned writer once wrote, “For every pleasure, there’s a price to be paid. For the legitimate pleasure, you pay the price before the pleasure. But for the illegitimate pleasure, you pay the price after the pleasure.”
Today’s Scripture points out that wickedness and sin can cost us wonderful blessings and good things.
God does not desire it to be so. That is why in 1Corinthians 10:13, the Bible says “…God is faithful, He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
Beloved, the next time you think of giving in to any temptation that comes your way,
1) Remember it will cost you something great that is not worth the temporal pleasure.
2) Look for God’s way of escape and flee.
3) Don’t forget that God is working in you, both to will and do according to His good pleasure.
Pray for the ability to detect ways of escape when sin approaches, and flee.
